Nischa Chuppecat Lodge came into being on January 1, 1973. It was created when Hoosier Hills Area Council (Wazi Yata Lodge) and White River Council (So-Aka-Ga-Gwa) merged to form Hoosier Trails Council. The Totem chosen was 2 flowing waters which signified the 2 forks of the White River, one fork flowed through each of the 2 merging councils. This signified brotherhood as the 2 forks combine into one river. The Lodge has a long history through So-Aka-Ga-Gwa Lodge of Serving at NOAC’s and Nischa Chuppecat continued that service as Service Lodge at the 1990, 1996, and 2002 NOAC’s.We have been the home to a National Vice Chief – Tony Steinhart and a Region Chief – Ryan King. We have 4 DSA recipients – Tony Steinhart, Ryan King, Dale Siefker, and Doug Seaborne.
