Tindeuchen Lodge #522 was formed on March 6, 1955 and named after an ancient Indian legend from the Ottawa settlement of MI-A-KON-DA (whose inhabitants lived on the lands of this camp). WA-BE-WA-WA lodge inducted its first eleven charter members with the help of Eagle Creek Lodge of the Put-Han-Sen Council.
WA-BE-WA-WA Lodge #522, whose name means “Goose in Flight”, took its name from an Indian legend about a fierce Indian brave who murdered his cousin. The cousin was scheduled to be the next great chieftain of their settlement.
Today, down where the purple wooded bangs of Lake Sawyer meet gray waters, a long bird with great silver wings flies aloft in the moonlight. It is the spirit of Muc-out-a-mong, the gentle cousin, who guards the slumbers of the youth who cherish the legend of MI-A-KON-DA, land of the crescent moon.
Due to the needs and wishes of the membership, Wa-Be-Wa-Wa Lodge #522 was reorganized in 1973 and is currently Tindeuchen Lodge #522 whose name means “Fire Builders”, and fire was made totem. Tindeuchen Lodge #522 serves the Erie Shores Council of Toledo, Ohio.
